Brian and Arthur welcome their baby girl
PRESENTER Brian Dowling and his husband Arthur Gourounlian yesterday announced the birth of their daughter.
The couple became parents through surrogacy and Brian’s sister Aoife volunteered to help them on their pregnancy journey.
The couple, who are advocates for domestic surrogacy reform in Ireland, travelled to Portugal to find a donor egg.
Brian shared the news on Saturday afternoon on Instagram, writing: ‘Please be upstanding for the arrival of our beautiful daughter Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian. Yes people another BDG. Blake was delivered safely on Thursday, September 1 at 14.52 weighing [sic] 7lbs 4ozs. We are absolutely totally in love with her and can’t believe she’s here and is ours.’ Friends and well wishers were quick to offer congratulations.
TV chef Donal Skehan wrote: ‘Hello baby Blake, you absolute beauty! Can’t wait to meet her – huge congratulations.’
Influencer Bonnie Ryan wrote: ‘Massive congratulations! And what a beautiful name.’
Rosanna Davison added: ‘Huge congratulations. Fantastic news that she’s safely here! Big hugs to all xxx.’
