LIVING THE GOOD LIFE
Dr Phil Kieran is back with a new series to show us how we can live longer, healthier lives by making changes to daily routines
Can you increase your life expectancy by making key changes to the way you live? RTÉ is back on a mission to help people all over Ireland live healthier, happier and longer lives with a new series of How Long Will You Live?
Each episode profiles a person who has neglected their health. They’ll undergo rigorous medical and fitness testing which reveals the negative impact that their lifestyle is having on their life expectancy.
Dr Phil Kieran then gives a sixweek plan of action and challenges them to improve this life expectancy.
The six emotional and relatable health journeys show measurable success and life changing results, along with health information and advice for viewers.
With the help and support of family, friends and a team of health professionals, the participants will attempt to achieve significant improvements in their general health, as well as literally aiming to add years to their predicted lifespan.
At the end of the six weeks each contributor repeats the series of tests and their new and improved predicted life expectancy is revealed.
The first episode this week features Carrie Roberts from Waterford. Carrie has just turned 40 and this significant birthday has forced her to admit she is the unhealthiest she’s ever been.
But she leads a busy life — as well as looking after her two children she works long hours as a community youth worker.
Carrie wants to feel healthier and happier but finds it hard to find the time and the motivation to improve her lifestyle. Can Cork-based GP Dr Kieran help her find healthier ways to live and add years to her lifespan?
