CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND
QUIRKY FUN
If you haven’t caught one of the quirkiest and most entertaining comedy dramas on TV, you’d better get a move on: Ex-Girlfriend is about to take its boatload of Emmy awards and depart from Netflix. The premise is simple — a high-flying New York lawyer ditches her career and heads to California to pursue her high-school boyfriend — but the execution is deliriously over the top, with each episode regularly interrupted by musical numbers as the cast burst into song and dance. The result is a weird and addictive show with a fantastically talented cast, not least creator Rachel Bloom (below), whose performance as the unhinged title character is simply spectacular.
