1. PREPARE:

Stand face-on to the target and place one foot forward with the opposite hand higher up on the grip, both thumbs should rest pointing upward and be sure to keep your hands low on the handle.

2. PULL BACK:

Heave the axe over your head and your elbows will lock, so don’t worry about slicing your back and then launch it forward – this should all be done in one swift motion. Hesitation is failure.

3. RELEASE:

Let go when the front blade of the axe has reached 10 o’clock. This will give your throw the height it needs to reach the target.

4. ANTICIPATI­ON:

The axe should do one full rotation before it reaches the target to count as a proper throw. Hold your breath!

5. SUCCESS:

Collect your bullseye throw by standing beside the axe and use both hands to see-saw the blade out of the log. This might take some effort depending on how strong your throw was.
