Get on down to shanty town for a feel-good night of gaiety
Fisherman’s Friends, The Musical, is a comedy based on the true story of a Cornish singing group and the 2019 film about their lives.
The group , who came together to do traditional working songs that had been sung for generations, were hoping to make some money for a local charity – but they ended up performing on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.
It’s a feel-good show about friendship, community and music, with lots of shanties made famous by the band, including Keep Haulin’ and No Hopers Jokers.
There’s a star cast including James Gaddas (Casualty, Coronation Street, and West End), Parisa Shahmir, Robert Duncan and Susan Penhaligon. The show runs at The Gaiety Theatre from 18–22 October as part of its UK and Ireland tour (gaietytheatre.ie).
