11 nominations for mail newspapers including five for your mail on sunday
IRISH Mail on Sunday reporters have received five nominations at this year’s Newsbrands Ireland Journalism Awards 2022.
These are among a total of 11 nominations received by DMG Media titles.
Our Crime Correspondent DEBBIE McCANN has picked up two nominations – one for Campaigning Journalism for our campaign on knife crime throughout the year, which included a heartrending interview with the parents of student Cameron Blair, who was killed in a knife attack two years ago.
Debbie was also nominated for Features Writer of the Year, alongside JENNY FRIEL from our sister paper, the Irish Daily Mail.
Political Editor JOHN LEE was nominated for Columnist of the Year (Popular), alongside JENNY FRIEL and PHILIP LANIGAN from the Irish Daily Mail.
John also picked up a second nomination for News Reporter of the Year.
Meanwhile, our Chief Sportswriter SHANE McGRATH has been nominated in the Sportswriter of the Year (Popular) category, alongside PHILIP LANIGAN. Elsewhere in the DMG Media stable, Irish Daily Mail political reporter LOUISE BURNE was nominated for Political Journalist of the Year. LISA
