Top chef Derry’s daughter ties knot

CHEF Derry Clarke’s daughter Sarah-May, looked stunning as she married handsome groom James McDonough.

Behind the smiles, the couple’s wedding at Sparkford Hall in Somerset, England, was a happy ending to a year when James was diagnosed with cancer.

Sarah-May said: ‘We realise how lucky we are really. He had surgery to remove the tumour, and then three weeks of chemotherapy. We lost about four months.’

Following his treatment, James has recovered well. With a smile, he said: ‘I lost my hair but it has grown back. Actually, it’s grown back curly!’

Up until his diagnosis, it had all gone to plan – James had asked

Sallyanne managed to keep the secret from their daughter.

Although, Sallyanne did nearly let the surprise slip, she says she did some serious backtracking and James managed to pull off his surprise proposal on a boat on the River Thames.
