IN-FORM POWER ACES THIRD ROUND

SEAMUS POWER’S attempt to claim back-to-back PGA Tour wins was boosted by a stunning hole-in-one at the World Wide Technology Championsh­ip at Mayakoba yesterday.

The Waterford golfer began his third round a whopping nine shots behind tournament leader Russell Henley. However, Power fired in birdies on the first hole and then on the seventh before the wowed the gallery with an ace on eight.

Power finished with a brilliant 63 on 15 under overall but was still seven shots behind Henley on 22 under heading into the final round. Henley shot a third-round 65.
