There’s no disguising a pro Bono book tour

-

AVERY blond Bono was accosted by adoring fans in the streets of Chicago this week as he went about his business on the first stage of his whistle-stop book tour. The singer, who turned the ripe young age of 60 this year, was in no way incognito, as he rocked up with his usual slicked back hair making him an easily spotted superstar for U2 watchers.

The singer announced he would be hitting the road and reading aloud snippets of his greatly publicised tome Surrender: 40 Songs One Story.

The one-man tour kicked off at the Beacon Theatre in New York city on Wednesday, with former US President Bill Clinton, and actors Katie Holmes and Tom Hanks all in the front row to listen to Bono banging on about Bono.

The book tour also has him stopping in theatres in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco, Los Angeles and, of course, he will be visiting his hometown of Dublin.

Speaking of his return to the stage, Bono said he has missed performing in front of a crowd.

‘I miss being on stage and the closeness of U2’s audience,’ he said. ‘In these shows I’ve got some stories to sing, and some songs to tell… Plus I want to have some fun presenting my ME-moir, Surrender, which is really more of a WE-moir if I think of all the people who helped me get from there to here.’
