HOW THEY RATED

Marks out of 10

- By Rory Keane

JIMMY O’BRIEN 7

Late HIA is a big worry ahead of Wallabies game. So calm and assured for such a rookie.

ROBERT BALOUCOUNE 6 Starved of posession for the second weekend in a row, but his defence for Fiji’s first try will be scrutinised.

ROBBIE HENSHAW 5

Gone after just five minutes after pulling up with a hamstring strain. His presence was missed.

STUART McCLOSKEY 5

Some nice touches early on, but Ulster centre will feel he didn’t make the most of this opportunity.

MACK HANSEN 7 Bagged a brace and then butchered a hat-trick. Rival wings will do well to shift him ahead of Six Nations.

JOEY CARBERY 7

Just his 12th start in 37 Tests for his country. He was having a solid game before high hit ended his day.

JAMISON GIBSON-PARK 6 Still a bit rusty after injury-hit start to the season, and it showed. Should be better next weekend.

JEREMY LOUGHMAN 6 Munster prop has taken the scenic route to international rugby. Some nice touches in attack.

ROB HERRING 6

Ulster hooker was on the money with lineout throws, as always. Lacks impact in the carry, however.

TADHG FURLONG 7 Huge day for the Wexford native and produced a typically robust display. Cut a frustrated figure after game.

KIERAN TREADWELL 7

Rated highly by Andy Farrell and carried well during Ireland’s purple patch in first half. Busy shift.

TADHG BEIRNE 8

Such a key cog in this Irish pack nowadays. Maintained high standards in dour contest.

CAELAN DORIS 6 Nagging suspicion that he does his best work at No8. Some big carries but not as influential as usual.

NICK TIMONEY 8

Ulster flanker needed a big game after poor night on Ireland A duty at RDS. Delivered in spades yesterday.

JACK CONAN 5 Not the player he was in 2021 when he was a Test Lion in South Africa. Has much more in him.

REPLACEMENTS

Jack Crowley did his prospects of further inclusion down the line no harm at all with a lively cameo while Max Deegan continued his return to prominence with an energetic 20 minutes off the bench. Casey was typically busy after replacing Gibson-Park at scrum-half.
