DEAD TO ME GAL PALS IN PERIL

This mix of drama and piercing black comedy is back for its final run, and resolves the series two cliffhanger that found Jen and Judy (Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, above) in mortal peril. For the uninitiated, here is the show’s premise: it’s the story of two very different women who are brought together by grief, and then forge a new life together — but it’s dogged by secrets. It’s very finely acted by the two leads. Series 1 and 2 already available; series 3 from Thursday

MISSING PLANE MYSTERY

For three series, this enjoyable and exciting Lost-style show has presented viewers with entertaining questions galore.

Just what caused a jet plane to land five-and-a-half years later than it was supposed to? Why are the folk from the plane — none of whom have aged a day — getting visions of the future that they feel compelled to act on? Who or what was behind it all? You can catch up with the first three seasons on Sky/Now, while the first half of the final fourth season is now on Netflix, with the second to follow later. Hopefully, it will all be wrapped up rather more neatly than Lost.

1899 SEABOUND GERMAN THRILLER

When an ocean liner crossing from Europe to the US takes a detour after receiving an SOS from a long-vanished ship, the passengers (such as The Pursuit Of Love’s Emily Beecham as Maura, below right) grumble about the delay. That’s soon the least of their worries, as they discover a ghost vessel full of secrets and danger. The fact that this new subtitled German series comes from the makers of eerie Netflix hit Dark should tell you all you need to know about what you’re letting yourself in for if you jump onboard. Shocks, psychological distress and supernatural horror are just the tip of the iceberg of terror that this show is steaming towards. Brace for impact... From Thursday

TELETUBBIES CHILDREN’S HIT RETURNS

A fresh generation of preschoolers can enjoy brand new adventures with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po in a lightly revamped version of the bizarrely entertaining kids’ show. It’s mostly familiar, but there is a new voiceover from Kimmy Schmidt star Tituss Burgess and the tiny Tiddlytubbies are along for the ride. From Monday
