Imagine Groundhog Day, but told from the point of view of a timetravelling woman who goes on the same first date — over and over again. Why does she do it? Finding out is the mystery that pulls you into this Manhattan romcom, but what keeps you for the long haul is the comic and emotional chemistry of Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) and Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live, both below) in the leads. The movie is mostly just them and creates something clever, funny and moving over the course of just 90 minutes on your screen. That’s a rare feat these days, and the smart way the script plays with the issues of long-term relationships, with a clever sci-fi twist, bodes well for future projects from its writer, Noga Pnueli.
