If walls could talk, No.7 would have SOME story to tell!
POSSIBLY the grandest terraced home in Dublin, No.7 Henrietta Street has a chequered 290-year history.
It was built in 1735 by Nathaniel Clements, an MP and developer, who built Áras an Uachtaráin to his own design. During his occupancy, No.7 was the scene of many a boozy party and political debate. As Dublin aristocracy moved to London during the 19th Century, the property’s decline began. In the 1900s, it was divided into tenements and fell into disrepair. The current massive renovation by owner Fergus Ryan has seen the plasterwork,
staircases, stone flooring and windows of this 8,210sq.ft home restored to their former glory.
In total contrast, the penthouses at Lansdowne Place, Dublin 4, are among the finest in Ireland, with a residents’ club that includes a gym, cinema and wellness centre, dining room and function room.
