HOW THEY RATED

Marks out of 10 By Shane McGrath

-

Ireland HUGO KEENAN 9

HE IS in the form of his life, and each Test seems to bring even better from the try-scorer.

MACK HANSEN 6

THE Connacht wing made two errors for Penaud’s try, one decisive, missed too many tackles.

GARRY RINGROSE 8

UNTIL that late try, he was mostly detained with defensive duties, and he met them with typical efficiency.

STUART McCLOSKEY 8

HE won’t be easily shifted from the No12 shirt now. His power brings a new aspect to the attack.

JAMES LOWE 9

HIS try was sensational, but he starred throughout and he is now a prime outlet in attack.

JOHNNY SEXTON 7

NOT a vintage effort. Too easily fended for Penaud’s try, departing injured cast a shadow on the day.

CONOR MURRAY 6

COMMENDABLE showing after tough week. He was efficient but the speed of Gibson-Park is still vital.

ANDREW PORTER 8

STRONG in the loose and in the tight. A hard-earned try, but how he fared in the scrum was more gratifying.

ROB HERRING 6

HE was in clear trouble following the clash with Atonio, and a rare chance to shine ended with a HIA.

FINLAY BEALHAM 8

AFTER his good show in Cardiff, this was a step up and he met the challenge superbly.

TADHG BEIRNE 7

THERE were times he looked like a man being put through a grinder, but he never stopped working.

JAMES RYAN 8

A LEADER, plain and simple. He did everything well, as he usually does. He’s back to his best form.

PETER O’MAHONY 7

DEFINITE signs of wear and tear, but still defiant and committed. Relished the brutal battles.

JOSH VAN DER FLIER 8

EASILY matching last year’s standards. This was a day of fierce ruck clashes, and he held his own.

CAELAN DORIS 9

DORIS is a rare combination of power and pace, and there wasn’t a better forward on the field.

REPLACEMENTS 8

CRAIG CASEY and Ross Byrne were astute in the final quarter. Ronan Kelleher’s hamstring got 50 minutes. Big day for Tom O’Toole. Good runs for Dave Kilcoyne, Iain Henderson, Jack Conan and Bundee Aki.

COACH 9

ANDY FARRELL isn’t putting a foot wrong. His trust in his senior players is unflinching and they are repaying him in spades.
