-

Get ready to experience the thrill of the ride as a new RTÉ series takes us behind the scenes of one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by Emerald Park, previously known as Tayto Park.

Filmed over two years, full access, behind-the-scenes series Nerves Of Steel follows the trials and tribulations of building Europe’s longest intertwining family and thrill coasters, an ambitious vision that required a €22 million investment.

The Tír Na nÓg development, which includes the two new intertwining rollercoasters, is due to open this month. Named Na Fianna Force and The Quest, the rides will offer an unparalleled rush for thrill-seekers chasing the ultimate adrenaline fix.

This four-part series delves deep into the heart of the action, chronicling the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of the Emerald Park team as they navigate the intricate journey towards the grand opening.

But the series is more than just a behind-the-scenes documentary — it’s a testament to the power of teamwork, passion and perseverance of the Emerald Park team in continuing and completing the ambitious vision of its late founder, Raymond Coyle.

Through its candid portrayal of the Emerald Park team’s journey, the four episodes — directed by Shane Brennan and produced by Moondance Productions — invite viewers to share in the triumphs, challenges and success of the Tír Na nÓg development.

This week, viewers are introduced to the ambitious vision of the Tír Na nÓg development, masterminded by Coyle, who shares his Emerald Park story while revealing his Tír Na nÓg plans.

Managing director of Emerald Park Charles Coyle said: ‘Shane and the Moondance team have really captured the spirit of Emerald Park in this behind-the-scenes documentary which was filmed across a two-year period.

‘We’re looking forward to sharing an exclusive look into all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Emerald Park from our various teams and departments as we gear up to the opening of our first fully themed immersive land, Tír Na nÓg.’

■ Nerves Of Steel starts on RTÉ One on Friday at 8.30pm.
