PHASE ONE ELECTRONIC MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAl The Dock, Carrick-onShannon, Co Leitrim, Sat & Sun at 3pm ¤60/¤35 phaseonefesti

Right – so how come one of the best “little” festivals on the Irish arts/music calendar isn’t happening in Dublin? It’s because not everything has to be shoved into the capital’s cultural washing machine.

So get thee hence to the rather lovely small town of Carrick- on-Shannon, where an array of international names in the area of mixers/ producers/DJs – including Ireland’s Nialler 9, UK’s Andrea Parker, Canada’s Sid Le Rock and pan-Europeans Terranova (above) – and Irish music acts – including Kubo, Slowplacelikehome, Donal Dineen, White Collar Boy, Daithí, Nanu Nanu, Sounds of System Breakdown and Generic People – will be swinging by to park their respective butts, say hello and deliver the goods.

Also, expect a wide range of other similarly engaging cultural sidebars and masterclasses over the Easter weekend, including those relating to visual art (Clu), digital illustration (Melissa Doran), video production (Feel Good Lost) and production and remixing (Sert One).
