The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - LISTINGS -

Charles Tyrrell has long been one the best, most exacting and rigorous abstract painters in Ireland. He happens to live in a remote location at the end of the Beara peninsula, overlooking the ocean, and there has been an ongoing dialogue in his work between abstraction and landscape – or seascape. That dialogue comes to the fore in his recent, burnished-looking paintings on aluminium panels. They make for an outstanding exhibition. Taylor Galleries, Kildare Street, Mon-Fri 10.30am-5.30pm, Sat 11am-3pm. Until May 3. taylorgal
