Take to the streets for Culture Night
Culture Night will return to Ireland’s towns and cities on September 19th, with a huge number of free events taking place and unusual venues throwing open their doors to the public for one evening only.
In Dublin, the programme includes an evening at Windmill Lane Recording Studio with a live gig by an as-yet-unnamed act; musical performances at the DIT Conservatory of Music and the Royal Irish Academy of Music; a gig at the Sugar Club featuring I Have a Tribe, The Taquin Experiments and more; live music by Kate’s Party at Outhouse, while RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena will broadcast live from Temple Bar.
In Cork, highlights include a concert by candlelight by the Vanbrugh Quartet at City Hall. NUI Galway hosts a recital by the Con Tempo Quartet, Drogheda’s Droichead Arts Centre plans a trad gig by Seamus Begley and guests, while Limerick’s Lime Tree Theatre will host No Regrets, an Edith Piaf tribute show, for free. All events are free, but some require pre-booking. See culturenight.ie for more.
