Burren in bloom

The Irish Times Magazine - - WE LOVE - Louise Bruton

The Burren is always full of life but sometimes that life is hidden under the sprawling limestone and hazel that covers the land. When spring starts turning into summer, flushes of colour appear and that hidden life comes into full view.

Through a series of walks, talks, workshops and events, the Burren in Bloom festival allows families to explore the flora and fauna and to learn about its inhabitants. Running from May 18th to 30th, different events such as farm walks in the Burren Nature Sanctuary, will be taking place in different venues in north Clare and south Galway.

There will be a herb pesto making demonstration and sample with savoury scones and seaweed garnish. Tickets: ¤ 10/¤ 5 for Burren Beo Trust members.
