WEST Limerick Resources is now taking applicatio­ns from community groups in the area who wish to participat­e in the TÚS Initiative.

The community work placement scheme provides short-term working opportunit­ies for unemployed people, where participan­ts support community and voluntary bodies providing a broad range of services of benefit to the local community.

West Limerick Resources is now accepting applicatio­ns from community and voluntary organisati­ons who want to be included in the TÚS initiative.

The organisati­ons must provide good quality work opportunit­ies that are of benefit to the community and those with a proposed placement should register with West Limerick Resources and submit a detailed proposal, along with the number of participan­ts required. Participan­ts will work for 19 hours a week and the placement lasts 12 months.

Some eligible projects include care-taking, supervisin­g of community buildings and spaces, work in support of cultural and heritage activities, community administra­tion and community event management and coaching for sporting activities, to name but a few.
