Entry is through the normal competition systems and team captains should record the 6 members of their team in the competition book at the reception. (Closing date Thurs Jan 19 at 4pm) The revised format for the Winter League 2012 is: one qualifying round – 18 holes stableford – Jan 22; Teams of 6 players at € 15 per player or € 90 per team; All 6 players to play the qualifier, 5 cards to count; Top 16 teams to qualify for matchplay; Matchplay to consist of four singles matches & one foursomes. After the foursomes pair is selected the lowest 4 remaining golfers will play in order of ascending h’cap. Any member wishing to play but not part of a team or groups with incomplete teams should enter their names and GUI no. in the competition book and an open draw will be made to make up extra teams. On Sunday Jan 8th there was a very enjoyable mixed scramble organised by the Ladies Club and sponsored by Frank Doran. The conditions were good and there was a large turnout, a good start to 2012. We extend our sympathies to Denis and Breda Mccarthy on their recent bereavement. Ladies club We would like to thank all who supported our Bumper Mixed Scramble sponsored by Safeguard Security (Frank Doran), we had a huge turnout and the day held out spectacularly for us too. The winners were Ailish Mulcahy, Mike Casey and Lisa Kerfoot with a score of 24 4/7 beating Danny Brosnan, John O'donoghue and Noreen O'mahony on the back 6 with the same score of 24 4/7 and in third place, Peter Obrien, John Spillane and Han Linehan with a score of 25, in 4th place Denis O'mahony, Denis Cronin and Mike Sulllivan with a score of 26 3/7.
