TIDY TOWN A meeting of the "Pride in our Village Group" was held in September 2011 and the Annascaul Tidy towns Action group ( attag) was formed. The committee is Mary Ward, Chairperson, Miriam Dennehy, Secretary and Treasurer, Geralding Walsh, Fr. Buckley, Trevol Percival and Noel Spillane. A consultant was engaged to draw up a 3 year plan which will shortly be available for public consideration. Fundraising is an on going process with a quiz scheduled for Friday 17th February in Hanafins Pub Donation boxes (wellie shapes) have been placed in public areas and all monies are welcome. GAA. The lotto now stands at E4,500 waiting for someone to pick four numbers (the right ones of course). Mystery- Martin Courtney and Carmel O'donnell. ROADS WORK on the N 86 from Grorleregage to Annascaul has resulted in the introduction of a 50 k p h speed limit so don't say you haven't been warned. ANNASCAUL/CAMP/INCH COMMUNITY GAMES - Well done to the Un15 mixed badminton team who competed in the first of Kerry Community Games County finals for 2012, in Moyvane last Saturday, 14th January and came home with bronze medals. Good luck to our Un15 boys Indoor Soccer team who are playing in the qualifiers this Sunday 22nd January, in Mountcoal Hall at 1.30pm. Upcoming Fixtures 2012 - Sun 29th January, Un 13 Boys Indoor Soccer qualifiers in Mountcoal Hall at 1.30pm. Febuary competitions include, Un13/un15 Girls Indoor Soccer, Un12/16 chess, Un 16 Boys Table Tennis. March --Un10 boys /girls handwritting ( new to community Games this year) and Artun8/un14 area competitions will be held locally at end of February . Children will be notified about these competitions..
