Kerry Volunteer Centre: The purpose of Kerry Volunteer Centre is to encourage, support and enable volunteering throughout the county of Kerry. The Volunteer Centre provides free and confidential services in a friendly and professional manner to volunteers, not-forprofit organisations, community and voluntary groups. Kerry Volunteer Centre services have been developed to meet the needs of both volunteers and community and voluntary organisations in Kerry. Services available from the Volunteer Centre include information, support, advice, volunteer placement, volunteer recruitment, marketing, brokerage, consultancy, Garda Vetting, volunteer management training and bespoke training services. Services can be accessed without appointment at 7 Maine Street, Tralee or at outreach clinics throughout the county, over the phone on 066 7117966 and/or on line at www.volunteerkerry.ie Volunteers: Kerry Volunteer Centre helps people who are looking to become involved in volunteering to become involved and we help people who are already involved in volunteering to remain involved. The services we provide to volunteers include information and advice on volunteering, a volunteer registration service, a volunteer placement service, access to training, information on overseas volunteering and individual based follow up supports. Organisations: Kerry Volunteer Centre also works with community and voluntary organisations who are looking to involve volunteers or who are looking for information, support and advice on involving and managing their volunteers appropriately. The services we provide to these not-forprofit organisations include, again information and advice, advertising of their volunteer opportunities, volunteer recruitment, individual based support services, promotion of their activities, volunteer management training, post training support, online resources, outreach, a database of volunteers and volunteer opportunities and a garda vetting service to organisations who cannot avail of it through any other source. It is very important when thinking about getting involved in volunteering or indeed when thinking about involving volunteers to have firm in your mind, this definition of volunteering.
