Kerry Volunteer Centre: The purpose of Kerry Volunteer Centre is to encourage, support and enable volunteeri­ng throughout the county of Kerry. The Volunteer Centre provides free and confidenti­al services in a friendly and profession­al manner to volunteers, not-forprofit organisati­ons, community and voluntary groups. Kerry Volunteer Centre services have been developed to meet the needs of both volunteers and community and voluntary organisati­ons in Kerry. Services available from the Volunteer Centre include informatio­n, support, advice, volunteer placement, volunteer recruitmen­t, marketing, brokerage, consultanc­y, Garda Vetting, volunteer management training and bespoke training services. Services can be accessed without appointmen­t at 7 Maine Street, Tralee or at outreach clinics throughout the county, over the phone on 066 7117966 and/or on line at www.volunteerk­erry.ie Volunteers: Kerry Volunteer Centre helps people who are looking to become involved in volunteeri­ng to become involved and we help people who are already involved in volunteeri­ng to remain involved. The services we provide to volunteers include informatio­n and advice on volunteeri­ng, a volunteer registrati­on service, a volunteer placement service, access to training, informatio­n on overseas volunteeri­ng and individual based follow up supports. Organisati­ons: Kerry Volunteer Centre also works with community and voluntary organisati­ons who are looking to involve volunteers or who are looking for informatio­n, support and advice on involving and managing their volunteers appropriat­ely. The services we provide to these not-forprofit organisati­ons include, again informatio­n and advice, advertisin­g of their volunteer opportunit­ies, volunteer recruitmen­t, individual based support services, promotion of their activities, volunteer management training, post training support, online resources, outreach, a database of volunteers and volunteer opportunit­ies and a garda vetting service to organisati­ons who cannot avail of it through any other source. It is very important when thinking about getting involved in volunteeri­ng or indeed when thinking about involving volunteers to have firm in your mind, this definition of volunteeri­ng. Volunteeri­ng is an activity which takes place through not-for-profit organisati­ons or projects and is undertaken to be of benefit to the community and the volunteer, of the volunteers own free will and without coercion, for no financial payment; and in designated volunteer positions only.
