GARDA; A Public Meeting was due to be held in the Marian Hall on Tuesday night January 17th at 8pm re the closing of our local Garda Station and the loss of our local Garda. A petition was in circulatio­n last weekend SENIOR Citizens meeting was held on Monday 15th January at 7.30pm in the Marian Hall. DEFIBRILLA­TOR course will commence shortly at Knockanure Community Centre. Anyone interested in becoming a responder for the Knockanure area can contact the office on 068 49799. Volunteers needed to participat­e in this worthy cause. A.G.M. of Moyvane GAA Coiste na Nóg will be held in the Marian Hall on Friday January 20th at 8.00pm sharp. DEATH of Bridie Gallagher brings back memories and her visit to Listowel Hospital in 1960 to the delight of the patients, she must have a special interest in the sick as she had polio as a child which in later years gave her a limp.
