FISHING CLUB: Mountcollins/brosna Anglers would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those who supported the spawning of salmon draw and all who came in large numbers for the event in Danaher's Bar last Friday night. The club would also like to thank all the sponsors whose support over the years makes the draw so successful. This in turn makes it possible for the fishing club to support other fundraisers in the locality. SET DANCING: Classes continue every Tuesday night in Halla Tadhg Gaelach, Tournafulla at 8.30 p.m. A variety of sets are taught and beginners, improvers and experienced dancers are welcome. GAA CLUB: The club is in search of a team trainer for the senior team to replace Humphrey Doody who has stepped down after four years with the club. During his term with Mountcollins we enjoyed huge success, winning the divisional and county junior football championships in 2009 and the county intermediate football championship in 2011 and promotion to senior status for 2012. Humphrey was highly regarded by all the players and club members. He took a very professional approach to training, fitness and player welfare. All in Mountcollins thank him for his time and efforts and wish him the best for the future. GAA SOCIAL: The 45th annual Mountcollins/tournafulla GAA club social was held in the Devon Inn Saturday night. After the meal there were speeches from club representatives and invited guests. Presentations were made to the successful teams in 2011 including minor, U21 and junior hurlers and minor and intermediate footballers. A great night concluded with dancing to Michael Collins Band. Well done to the social committee. ALL STAR AWARDS: Congratulations to Shane Gleeson and Stephen Cahill who have been nominated for All Star football awards. Shane received his award for intermediate football while Stephen is honoured for minor football. They will receive their awards at the West Board banquet. Lucky dips to Daniel O'connell, Abbeyfeale; Joan Keating; Joe Collins; Tom Mulcahy, all from Tournafulla. Willie O'connor was the winner of the pub draw and Mike Sheehy won the promoter's prize. This week's draw will be in The Goal Post Bar, Tournafulla for a jackpot of E1300.
