President elect to visit South
THE new Chairman of the Kerry County Board, Patrick O’sullivan has made the issue of lack of employment in rural areas one of his priorities to be dealt with during his tenure.
He has invited the President elect of the GAA, Liam O’neill to Cahirciveen later this month in recognition of this area’s designation as an employment blackspot, because of this a special meeting of the South Kerry Board was convened last Friday night to agree on a number of ideas and to make suggestions on what the GAA organisation might try to do to address this problem. Quite a number of very good proposals were made and these will be put to the incoming President while he is in South Kerry.
At the end of the meeting votes of sympathy were passed to the O’sullivan family, Valentia on the death of their mother and to the O’sullivans, The Glen / Ballinskelligs on the death of Patrick (Patie).
