GOLDEN GIRL
A young Kilflynn boxer caused a stir when she knocked the stuffing out of the world champion in her category.
GOLDILOCKS will be in over her head again, this time at the Tínteán Theatre in Ballybunion where local GAA side, Beale are running their second annual panto.
Last year’s effort proved a smash hit as the community came together in a spirit of fun in aid of the GAA club. Once again, it is guaranteed that your sides will split with mirth as the cast — drawn entirely from Beale GAA — take to the stage with an hilarious script.
Will Goldilocks come acropper when the bears come home? Or will she, pure north Kerry style, talk her way out of disaster? “You’ll just have to come along and find out,” director Máiréad O’neill said. “We’re up to our eyeballs in rehearsals at the moment and it’s a brilliant laugh. The cast is made up of great local characters and it is going to be side-splitting we hope,” she added.
Goldilocks is played by Beale Ladies secretary Molly Breen, with last year’s Prince Charming John Farrell playing father bear, Noirín Hitchin as mama bear and Tom O’neill as baby bear. Meanwhile, senior players Ogie Horgan and Jeremy King take to the stage as everyone’s favourite twins, yup, looks like Jedward is making a return to Ballybunion!
Goldilocks will be performed on Friday, February 3, and Saturday, February 4, at 7.30pm both dates. Adult tickets cost €10, children €5 and family tickets €20 and all proceeds go towards the development of Beale GAA Bord na nóg.
