KERRY REACH CHRISTY RING CUP FINAL: The Kerry Senior hurlers reached the Final of the Christy Ring Hurling Cup competitio­n on Saturday 31st May with a 8 point win over Mayo at Elvery's Park, Mayo on a final score of Ciarraí 3- 20 to Mayo 1 -18 , the visitors led by 3-14 to 0-05 at the interval break. The Crotta hurling club was represente­d on the victories Kerry team by Shane Nolan scoring 1 -02 at corner forward, and Sean Weir scoring 0-02 at wing back. Kerry now go on to play Kildare on Saturday 7th June in Croke Park at 4.00pm. Best of luck to Sean and Shane and their team mates and mentors in the final. TRALEE C.B.S Congratula­tions and Well done to Crotta hurler Adrian Mahony, Tullig, Kilflynn who received the C.B.S, The Green, Secondary School, Tralee. Hurling Player of the Year Award 2014. Adrian is a son of former Crotta hurler Denis Mahony and Arlyn Mahony and he received his Award on Thursday night 22nd May at the end of the year School's award night. Adrian was the third Crotta player to received this award with Paul Costello in 2007 and Thomas Quille in 2009. Ardfert led by 0-05 to 0-03 at half time. Great credit to both teams who provided a very entertaini­ng and sporting game. County Board Coiste na nÓg secretary Tadgh O'Halloran presented the shield to victorious Crotta Captain Tomas O'Connor.
