U13 BOYS FUTSOL

This competition took part in Tanavalla, Listowel last Sunday with teams broken into groups, top of each group through to the final. Duagh/Lyre beat Moyvane/Knockanore 5-2, the next game saw them draw 1-1 with Rathmore/Gneeveguilla, the boys were unlucky here not to have won. The final game in group saw them win 6-1 against St Brendan's/Oakpark. As both Duagh/Lyre and Rathmore/Gneeveguilla both finished on equal points they had to replay to decide who went forward for a place in the final. At full time the score was 1-1, after extra time the score still stood at 1-1. It was down to penalties to decide the place and unfortunately Duagh/Lyre lost 3-2. The Duagh/Lyre team went on to play Ballyheigue for the 3rd and 4th place decider and the Duagh team tired after their extra game narrowly lost out on a score of 1-0 to Ballyheigue. Rathmore/Gneeveguilla went on to win gold. Well to all players and trainers Jim Moloney and Mike Buckley. Team: Cillian Buckley, Donnacha Maher, Mike Keane, Ted Moloney, Jack Quinlivan, Oisin Moloney and Eoghan Shanahan.
