Minor County League Final Ballylongford/Asdee 1-11 Beale 7-11 The scoreline tells the story of this final and indeed it could have been much worse had Beale kept going for goals in the latter stages of the game instead opting for tap over points. when a goal was on. Beale first four attacks yielded four goals in the 5,6,10,13th minute and were at 4-1 at the end of the first quarter.Ballylongford;Asdee weren’t sitting back in this quarter either and stood at 1-3 the goal coming from Eoin O’Connor from the penalty spot in the 14th minute. The second quarter continued at pace but was less dramatic with both sides swapping points leaving the half time score Ballylongford/Asdee 1-7 Beale 4-4. With the second half barely three minutes old Bally/Asdee had the deficit reduced to three points while Eoin OConnor had a couple of goal attempts one coming off the post while Beale keeper Michael O’Sullivan saved well from the other. But this was as good as it got for the combination side as Beale took over the scoring from here Darragh Buckley adding goal number five in the 6th minute followed four minutes later with another from impressive midfielder Johnny O’Sullivan.Beale continued to dominate the half and the final score could have been anything. Darragh Buckley with 3-2 gave a brilliant display from centre forward and was deserving man of the match and with Kerry minor star Cormac Linnane to join them they will be a force to be reckoned with.
