All roads lead to Croke Park in Dublin this Sunday where the Desmonds Adam Donoghue plays with the Kerry minor team when they play Derry in the All Ireland minor final. The club wishes Adam all the best and also best wishes go to Eddie Horan of Scartaglen who is also involved with the team plus our previous senior men’s trainer Padraig Murphy who is on the management team. The club wishes to thanks everyone who contributed to the Kerry GAA church gate in Castleisland last weekend and also to the club officers who kindly helped with the collection on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

The under 10 girls team travelled to Passage West in Cork last Saturday to take part in blitz that the club hosted. 123 teams from all of the country were invited on the day. The girls won 4 games on the day and they had a fantastic day of fun and games. Thanks to all of the girls that travelled on the day and to the team mentors and parents that travelled on the day also.

The senior men’s team travelled to Listowel on Saturday last to play Ballydonoghue in the North Kerry league division 1 final. Unfortunately they had no luck on the evening, but you felt going in at half time losing on the score of 1:02 to 9pts after Stan Divane had scored a goal for Desmond’s and playing with the wind to their backs in the 2nd half that their luck might change but with a stronger Ballydonoghue team on the night this was to see them lose on the score of Ballydonoghue 2:13 to Desmond’s 1:05

Team was, Stephen Bartlett, Gearoid Leonard, Maurice Lynch, Ciaran Breen, Luke Lyons, Barry Lynch, Padriagh O’Connell, Brian Leonard, Pa White, Stan Divane, Tomás Lynch, Gearoid McCarthy, Marc O’Connor, Cian O’Connor, Graham O’Connor. Subs all played Patrick Horan, Tadgh Walsh, John Begley. Team Management: Domo Lyne, Willie Dom Connor, and Gerard Murphy. Thanks to all the Desmond’s supporters that travelled to Listowel to support the team. Next game for them is the North Kerry championship against Ballyduff away date and time tbc.

The Desmond’s junior men’s team play Kenmare this Saturday 16th in the Barrett Cup BC final. Venue and time tbc. Congratulation’s to the Desmond’s under 12 boys team that won the Kerry Central Regain Division 3 league. Well done to all of the players and team management. This coming Friday September 15th they travel to Currow to play in the under 12 district blitz. They are in group 1 with Ballymac A, Currow and Cordal. Starting at 6:30pm games 10 minutes per half.
