Cumann na mBunscol games deferred

THE Allianz Cumann na mBunscol quarter-finals and semi-finals took a pretty serious battering last week from Hurricane Ophelia on Monday and Tuesday and the torrential rain which preceded Storm Brian on Friday. The games that were cancelled will go ahead this week and the urban finals will not go ahead this week and have been rescheduled for the first week of November following mid-term break.
In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Urban Two semi-final CBS Tralee were defeated by a point by Mon, Killarney while Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh and St. Oliver’s will go head to head this week. In the first of the Urban Three semi finals Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn had a comprehensive 3-11 to 2-4 victory over Lisivigeen while Gaelscoil Aogáin and Ardfert played out a thrilling draw under difficult weather conditions in John Mitchels pitch on Friday last. Aogáin 4-2 Ardfert 3-5.
In the 6/8-Teacher competition Duagh defeated Tarbert in the North Kerry final. Holy Family Rathmore have qualified from East Kerry. O Bréanainn and Spa will do battle in The Brendan’s Board/ Castleisland District final and Cullina who defeated Caherciveen will complete the semi-final line-up.
In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 4/5-Teacher championships all quarter-finals will be played this week.

In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 3-Teacher Ceann Trá and Knockanes are through to the semi finals. Knockanes await the winners of the Scoil Réalt na Mara Tousist and Scoil Mhichíl Portmagee quarter-final while Ceann Tra will take on the winners of the Asdee / Knocknagoshel clash.
In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 2-Teacher championship Scoil Náisiúnta An Chlocháin, are through to the final following their 5-8 to 5-5 victory over Derrynane a hotly contested game played in Killorglin on Friday. In Kenmare on Friday Tiernaboul defeated Bonane 2-9 to 2-5 in an epic encounter in their quarter-final.
