McCarthy helps Munster A win over Nottingham

-

SEAN McCarthy made another major contribution in Munster A’s 38-7 win over Nottingham in the British and Irish Cup competition last Friday. The big second row from Currow gave a dominant display in the line out as Munster A garnered a bonus point victory over the English Championship side in a game that was played in extremely windy conditions at Irish Independent Park, Cork. Munster’s tries came from Brian Scott, Oli Evans, Evan Mintern (2), Sam Arnold and Sean O’Connor.

Meanwhile, JJ Hanrahan was an unused replacement in Munster’s gutsy 14-7 victory over Racing 92 in the European Champions Cup last Saturday. Tries from Conor Murray and Andrew Conway, both converted by Ian Keatley, set Munster on their way to a superb victory over the strong French outfit. Munster will travel with confidence to play Connacht In the PRO14 next Friday night.
