CRAFT FAIR

Our Annual Craft Fair will take place on Sunday 5th November at 12 noon, in Knocknagos­hel Community Centre. The proceeds of our Craft Fair are used to help fund our Over 55’s social Club. There are a limited number of tables still available. GUITAR/KEYBOARD CLASSES

Beginners and advanced classes are available in Guitar and Keyboard starting on Friday Oct 17th . Times to be confirmed. INFORMATIO­N BOARD

Lixnaw Developmen­t Associatio­n intend to erect a historical informatio­n board outside the Church. A draft of same can be viewed inside the Church at the entrance to the St Pio Shrine. The purpose of the board is to remind locals and inform visitors of the rich Lixnaw heritage. The long term plan is to enhance the appearance of the village with a view to entering the tidy towns competitio­n.

DANCE CLASSSES

Commencing Monday September 25th at Listowel Emmetts GAA Clubhouse from 8.00pm to 9-30pm. Beginners 7.00pm. Wednesday 27th September at Kerins O’Rahillys ‘’Charlies Bar’’, Strand Road, Tralee. 8.00pm to 9-30pm. Beginners 7.00pm. LIXNAW TURKEY TROT

Want to get fit in time for Christmas? Our couch to 5 km program continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 8pm from the Railway bar. Experience­d runners will guide you through the program. This will lead to you taking part in the Turkey Trot 5km run in Lixnaw on December 17th. Massive turn out every night so come along and join in the fun.

TEMPLE ST FUNDRAISER

TEMPLE STREET CHILDRENS HOSPITAL: the recent Country & Western night organised by Monty & Anna Boyd at the Railway bar Lixnaw was a huge success realising €2,500. Many thanks to all who supported the fund raiser. When this is sorted out the Resource Centre will again be available for meetings, parties, card games, exercise classes, music classes and other events.

CEILI

The November ceili in Halla Tadhg Gaelach, Tournafull­a will take place on Friday night week, Nov 3. Dancing will commence at 9.30pm to the music of Taylors Cross Ceili Band.

PRESENTATI­ON NIGHT

The annual presentati­on night organised by Tournafull­a Bord na nOg and Camogie Club will be held on this Sunday night, Oct 29 commencing at 6pm. All players from under 6 to under 12 will receive medals for their service to the club in 2017. This will be followed by a disco with prizes for the best costumes. Light refreshmen­ts will be available and all are welcome.

GAA LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s Mountcolli­ns/Tournafull­a GAA clubs lotto where the numbers were 4 6 21 24. Lucky dips Denis Dillane, Mountcolli­ns; Rita Scanlon, Tournafull­a; Ester Flavin, Tarbert and Richard O’Connor, Tournafull­a. Winner of the promoters prize was Oliver Mann. This week’s draw will be held in Danahers Bar, Mountcolli­ns where the jackpot will be €1500.

FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The first semi final of the Denis Flannagan Memorial football tournament which was postponed last week is now fixed for the locla pitch on tonight, Wednesday at 7.30pm. The game should see a good contest between near neighbours Mountcolli­ns and Rockchapel with the winners to face the victors of the second semi between Brosna and Fr Caseys. All proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.

SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Well done to the local National School football team who have qualified for the finals of the Schools competitio­n which will be played in Mick Neveille Park, Rathkeale on this Thursday. In the sem final, Mountcolli­ns defeated our near neighbours from Meankilly NS at the local pitch on Friday last.

WINTER CARD GAMES

The winter card playing season will commence in Meenkilly NS on Tuesday next, October 31 at 9pm. Card games will get underway in Mountcolli­ns Community Centre on Thursday night week, Nov 2 at 9pm.

FUND RAISING BINGO

The organisers of last Sunday’s bingo would like to thank allwho came to support the fund raising event. All proceeds go towards the upkeep and continuing improvemen­t to the local Community Centre.

Thank you to all who helped out on the day, congratula­tions to all the prizewinne­rs and it is hoped to organise a similar event in the near future.
