Savannah moves from for Glasgow City to Cork City

AFTER two great seasons with Glasgow City Savannah McCarthy is back in more familiar surroundings again after signing for Cork City during the week.

The highly talented Listowel girl has already displayed her exceptional talents in the Women’s National League with Galway WFC before signing for Glasgow City in 2016.

McCarthy has captained, Ireland at Under 17 and Under 19 level, and gained her first senior cap at the Cyprus Cup in 2016 against Austria. She says she enjoyed her spell in Glasgow but felt it was time to come back home and play in Ireland again.

She says she is excited at the prospect of playing with a high profile club such as Cork City and said she was delighted with the reception she has got from the club where she will be reunited with ex-Glasgow City teammate Clare Shine.
