THE two-week run of the Blue Umbrella Gallery artists’ new “Awakening” exhibition is part of a packed schedule over the rest of the month at St John’s theatre.

The exhibition, opening at 8pm this Saturday, April 14, will continue until April 28, but is far from the sole attraction at the famous theatre for the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, April 18, the best of traditional will get its showcase with the appearances of Donegal fiddle player Bríd Harper, concertina player Tony O’Connell, and guitarist, bouzoukist, and vocalist Cyril O’Donoghue.

From Friday 20 to Tuesday 24, John B Keane’s “Many young men of twenty” takes to the stage. Legends Don Baker and Rob Strong will be in Listowel with their new album on April 27, and the month comes to a close from April 30 to May 4 with an art and design exhibition by students of the North Kerry College of Further Education.
