Calls for playground

The Kerryman (North Kerry) - - NEWS -

A COUNCILLOR has renewed calls for Kerry County Council (KCC) to prioritise a playground for Beaufort.

Councillor Michael Cahill raised the issue at a South and West Kerry Municipal District meeting, pointing out that Beaufort is a big parish with a large young population.

He added that Beaufort draws thousands of tourists each and suggested that if KCC cannot acquire a suitable site then it should assist locals in securing one.

A KCC response outlined that it has worked with a community group in the parish with a view to providing a local playground. While efforts to date have been unsuccessful, KCC will continue their search for a site.
