Tommy, aged 60 died after a long battle with cancer. In compliance with his wishes his wife and family requested a private funeral service. As the early morning funeral cortege arrived in Tarbert on its way to Cork on Saturday 7 July there was a very large guard of honour provided by former footballers who played with and against him . It was testimony to his ability and popularity that former members of Tarbert, Shannon Rangers, Listowel Emmets, Kerry Minor and U-21 teams as well as friends and neighbours came together to bid him a final slán abhaile. A stylish, strong and accomplished footballer he played on winning Kerry Minor and U-21 teams in the 1970’s. He was one of nine children born to Bill and Mary Bridgeman, St. Patrick’s Terrace, Tarbert. He was predeceased by his sister Rose and brother Derry. Sympathy of the community is extended to his
