Memorable day for Cara Credit Union

-

FRIDAY, October 19, will be remembered as an historical milestone for Cara Credit Union, which came away with five awards at two award ceremonies in Dublin and Kerry.

At a Gala Luncheon in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel in Dublin, Cara Credit Union attended the Irish Credit Management Training’s Top 20 Credit Teams in Ireland Awards among many leading consumer and trade credit teams throughout Ireland.

Not only did Cara Credit Union win the ‘Credit Union Team of the Year Awards’ and ‘Financial Services Team of the Year Awards’, but they were also crowned the ‘Overall Credit Team of the Year’, coming number one out of all the 20 categories.

Later that evening, and much closer to home, Cara Credit Union won the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ at The Kerryman Business Awards in Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa, and to top off a remarkable day for the credit union, they also came away with the “Overall Award Winner’s Prize” at our awards.

“We are absolutely delighted and honoured to receive such prestigious awards on behalf of our voluntary board of directors, our staff, our members and our communities in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin,” said Cara Credit union CEO Pa Laide.

“These awards are a fitting tribute in this our 50th Anniversary and are a significant endorsement to our recent name change to Cara Credit Union. Results like these are hard to achieve; they don’t just happen, they take years of dedication, commitment and hard work from our voluntary board of directors, our amazing staff and our members, who support us and keep us strong,” Mr Laide added.
