Glenflesk take U14 Division 1 title

SPA hosted Scartaglen in round 1 O’Donoghue Cup, on Saturday.

Spa settled well and with Michael O’Donoghue in top form, raced to an early lead. Scartaglen keeper Martin Hewitt denied Spa a penalty goal when he dived to his left to save. Score at the break was Spa 1-7 Scartaglen 0-3.

Scartaglen stated the second half brightly and had the deficit down to 3 points by the 37thminute with a David Riordan goal and a point (Brian Hanrahan). It was Scartaglen’s last score as Spa responded with supersub, Conor Stack 1-4. Spa pulled further away even with excellent points.

Spa play Rathmore in the quarter-final next Sunday at 2pm.

Glenflesk 3-10 Kilcummin 2-11

THE sides served up a classic at Fitzgerald Stadium.

It was tit-for-tat. Glenflesk’s Luke Crowley pointed. Kilcummin’s Turlough O’Connor goaled. Adam Murphy pointed. Dylan Roche pointed free, Luke Crowley goaled. The sides traded points, Padraig Moynihan (Kilcummin), Dylan Roche (Glenflesk).

Luke Crowley added his second goal. The sides traded two points, Brandon Griffin, Jack Fogarty (Kilcummin). Luke Crowley, Eoghan Kelly (Glenflesk). Half Time: Glenflesk 2-5 Kilcummin 1-4.

On resumption, Dylan Roche and Colin O’Leary swapped points. However, Glenflesk increased their lead to 10 points on 41st minute with two points (John Kelleher, Dylan Roche) and a Luke Crowley goal.

Kilcummin responded with a flurry of points-Mark O’Shea (4), Colin O’Leary, Evan O’Sullivan and a Mark O’Shea goal. Margin reduced to the minimum. However, Glenflesks’ Luke Crowley pointed a free.

Sean O’Sullivan, East Kerry Coiste na nOg presented Ned Myers Shield to Glenflesk Captain John Kelleher.

The first half saw Fossa lead, points from Rian Colleran (2), Harry Kelly (2), Patrick Lyons (2), Sean Dineen. Ryan O’Leary finished a Fossa goal to the net. Firies replies from Stephen Palmer (3), Aoran Burke (2) and Colin O’Callaghan left the half time score Fossa 1-7 Firies 0-6.

On resumption, the sides traded four goals.Darren Ryan (Fossa) and Aoran Burke (Firies).Stephen Palmer finished a goal to the Fossa net before Ted O’Gorman squeezed in a goal from a tight angle.

Fossa kicked on with Harry Kelly (2f) and Sean Dineen long distance point. Firies Luke Ring pointed but Fossa finished the stronger, kicking three points (Darren Ryan, Harry Kelly, Sean Dineen).

Louise Moriarty, East Kerry Coiste na nOg presented the trophy to Fossa Captain Harry Kelly.
