Willie’s poignant marathon tribute to late brother John
LISTOWEL’S endurance runner Willie Guiney was delighted this week to present a cheque for €1,000 to the Áras Mhuire Nursing Home – in a poignant gesture remembering his brother John who was cared there for the last seven years until he passed away in August.
Willie took on one very long route through the capital for the Dublin City Marathon; completing it in a time of 4:06:20, quicker than last year. “I was delighted to run for the nursing home where my brother was cared for for the last seven years,” Willie said after presenting the money on Tuesday last.
