Listowel Food Fair Lifetime Achievement Award goes to hotelier Francis Brennan
LISTOWEL Food Fair is delighted to announce that Francis Brennan-TV personality, successful author and co-owner of the five star Park Hotel in Kenmare is the recipient of the prestigious ‘Listowel Food Fair Lifetime Achievement Award’ for 2018.
Previous recipients were former CEO of Kerry Group Denis Brosnan and food journalist Georgina Campbell. Chairperson of Listowel Food Fair, Jimmy Deenihan said that ‘Francis was chosen because of his outstanding contribution to the Irish Hospitality Sector for the past 30 years. He has been a great Ambassador not only for Kenmare and Kerry but also for Ireland. The success of the Park Hotel is very much based on the culinary experience that the guests enjoy there. Francis has always put particular emphasis on using locally produced food including beef, lamb, pork, cheese and vegetables on his restaurant menu. He has recently produced a food suppliers map to enable guests at his hotel to visit individual farms to see at first hand where the food on the hotel menu came from. This is traceability brought to a new level. Francis is one of the most admired and loved TV personalities in Ireland at this time. Kenmare and Kerry are fortunate that Francis decided to make our county his home over thirty years ago.
