BEALE JUNIORS: The end scoreline did not reflect the game when Beale juniors lost out to Ballylongford by nine points in the North Kerry Championship semi-final on Saturday afternoon. Played in beautiful autumnal conditions, we found it hard to get off the starting blocks and were 2-4 adrift before we got on the scoreboard. We then hit a purple patch and went in at the short whistle, 1-2 to 2-5. We drove on on the changeover, raising the green flag from the throw-in and then brought our opponents back to within two points. However, the wheels came off our wagon in the last ten minutes with our defence under pressure. Delay in releasing the ball cost us as Ballylongford capitalised on opportunities. The game ended, 2-7 to 4-10.
