SENIOR HURLING: At Moyvane on Sunday last Ballyduff had one point to spare over Tarbert in a thrilling North Kerry Senior Football Championsh­ip Quarter-final played in front of a large crowd in Brosnan Park. Two goals in the 8th and 15th minute of the first half were to prove crucial in the outcome of the game when firstly Sean Costello fisted a high ball to the net and then Padraig Boyle fired home a penalty to give Ballyduff a seven point lead. Tarbert hit six points on the trot and suddenly there was only the minimum between the sides with half time approachin­g. The Boys in Green rallied before the break and fired over two points to lead 2 6 to 0 9 at the break. The second half saw Tarbert reduce the margin to the minimum at different stages and Ballyduff restoring their three points lead as the game ebbed and flowed with both teams giving their their all. At the end of normal time Ballyduff led by two points but in the first minute of injury time Tarbert added a point and came looking for an equaliser to send the game to extra-time.
