Ballyhar replies not enough

KILLARNEY Athletic put in a very good second half to take the points and close the gap on the sides above them.

Darragh Looney and Mathew Horgan got Athletic’s goals with Hugh O’Malley and Luke Ring replied for Ballyhar. However in the second half Looney completed his hat trick and Sean Dineen and Alex Hoare added two more at Athletic took the points. O’Malley added a third for Ballyhar.

Division 1

CASTLEISLA­ND recovered from being 2-0 down at the half to defeat Mastergeeh­a 4-2.

Colin O’Leary and Mark O’Shea had put the Kilbrean side 2-0 up. But it was all Castleisla­nd after the break with goals from Alex Kepp, Ryan Dennehy (two) and Freddie Galway moving them onto nine points from three games.

Fenit proved too strong for Ballyheigu­e and had Eddie McCarthy leading the scoring with a hat-trick. His three were added to by goals from Robert Monaghan (two), Fiachra O’Connor, Jack Kearney and Bobby O’Connor to wrap up the win.

Killarney Celtic got the points from their game with Iveragh United and are now just point behind second and three of top spot.

Division 2

LB Rovers are leading the way and in their latest game they saw off Tralee Dynamos. The Rovers goals came from Kieran O’Connell (three), Cian O’Callaghan, Ben Murphy. Anthony Kavanagh and Darragh Fitzpartic­k.

MEK are only a point behind the leaders after they were 3-2 winners at home to Killorglin B for whom Oisin Lynch scored both goals. Shane Evans, Dáire McCarthy and Eden Murphy got the goals for MEK.

Listowel Celtic B had a great battle in Kenmare and came away from Inter with the three points. Timothy o’Donoghue and Yago Cornide were the Inter Kenmare scorers. A Tony Boland hat trick and one from Adam Segal were enough for Celtic to win the game.
