Alison’s charity CD launch raises €5,000
ALISON McGaley’s recent charity album launch was declared an outstanding success by the singer herself.
Her claim can be backed up by the fact that she raised €5,000 for her chosen charity from the sales on the night alone.
“I was thrilled with the huge support I got from the whole community of Castleisland and beyond,” said Alison in reaction to the events surrounding the launch.
“Over 350 people attended the event. There has been very positive feedback from those who were there and everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves.
“Eddie Lee, Noreen Ashe, Mike Condon and James Kelliher had everyone up and dancing all night. Those who attended purchased my album ‘Alison Sings The Classics’ on the night for which I am very grateful,” she added.
There are still some available to buy from any of the following: Tommy Hickey’s Castleisland; Caball’s Toymaster Tralee and Kieran’s XL Knocknagoshel.
“The Album costs €10 and all proceeds go to the Kerry Cork Health Link Bus.
The CD features 13 fantastic songs suitable for all tastes, including a duet ‘Jackson’ sung by Eddie Lee and myself,” Alison continued.
“I also sing ‘ The Prayer’ on the album with Bryan Carr. It was a huge honour to sing with these two men on the night and on the album.
“Eddie and Bryan have been both mentors and friends to me and without their encouragement I wouldn’t have had the confidence to record my own album.
“To date I have raised almost €5,000 for The Kerry Cork Health Link Bus from the launch night, raffle and CD sales and there is still money coming in from the sales.
“None of this would have been possible without the huge public support on the night so I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped to make the night such a success.
