People moving to other countries must understand they have to adapt

-

SIR,

Now that Christmas is almost here, I wish people would realize part of our culture, tradition and heritage involves cribs and statues in public places.

Celebrating Christmas, as well as other religious festivals, we are not objecting to others celebrating their own religion etc. To each their own, but I am disgusted at the way we bend over backwards to be politically correct and appease some of our immigrants.

This is a slightly altered version of an article I read, and it is so appropriate.

People moving to other countries must understand they have to adapt to their new country’s customs, traditions and way of life, because that is where they ended up or chose to settle.

They should understand that they have to integrate and learn to live in their new country if they want to be happy. It is for them to change their lifestyle not the country that welcomes them.

They must understand that we are neither racist nor xenophobic and remember too that some of their countries do not accept immigrants of other religions.

We should not be willing to give up our identity or our culture to appease others.

A bit early but y’all have a happy Christmas,

Sincerely

Mary Devane Wilson
