Important win for Dingle Bay

JK SPORTS UNDER 12 Division 2 North

DINGLE Bay enjoyed an important 3-1 home win over LB Rovers.

Their goals came from Jack Diver, Aaron Foley and Jessie Lynch who was scoring her first goal in her second game – not bad for a 10 year old. Oisin McEvoy replied for LB Rovers.

Ballyheigu­e had goals from Adam Thornton (two), Jacob Quille, Odhran Lee, Max Grybowski and Adam Lee in their win over Fenit.

DALY’S SUPERVALU UNDER 13 Premier

LEADERS Killorglin have still to drop a point after five games. Their latest win came away to Iveragh United and they have opened a nine point lead at the top of the table from Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic with both having a game in hand.

In this game Stephen Gannon was again the scorer-in-chief hitting four. These were added to by goals from Seamus Kelly, Jack McGrath and Ben Levy.

Killarney Athletic are now only two points behind Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic after they defeated the latter in a five goal thriller. Athletic caught the home side napping and were 2-0 up within the first five minutes thanks to goals from Oisin Lynch and Matthew Moynihan.

However, Listowel Celtic battled back and a clever Oisin Healy free kick halved the deficit before half time. Another free kick, this time from Aaron Carey levelled matters with 15 minutes to go, but it was the visitors that finished better and Oisin Lynch got his second to give Athletic all three points.

Division 1

IT was a day of surprises in the division as the top sides before play began were beaten.

Killorglin B remain in top spot, but only by one point, after they lost at home to Mastergeeh­a who had goals from Jack Tagney, John Hughes and Kieran Nagle.

Dingle Bay Rovers were beaten away at Castleisla­nd and remain on 10 points, two behind Killorglin, as they also lost on the day.

Goals from David Healy (two), Jack Joy (two), Kian Downey and Killian Dennehy gave the home side the win with James Hoare replying for Dingle Bay. Castleisla­nd are now unbeaten in their three games and have games in hand.

Inter Kenmare are up to joint second after a 6-3 away win at Killarney Celtic B. Barry Fitsimons (two), Ben Callaghan and Zack O’Shea were on the mark for Inter who also benefited for two own goals while Joey McCarthy was on the mark for Celtic.

Camp Juniors will be happy with their 2-1 win at home to Tralee Dynamos thanks to goals from Cian Courtney and Diarmuid Walsh who pounced on the rebound after the Dynamos keeper had saved penalty.

Division 2 North

THE Park C now have a perfect 6 and 0 record and won away at Fenit this weekend. Sam Slattery, Ciaran O’Connell and Ronan O’Carroll were on the mark for the Division leaders.

The Park C’s club mates, the Bs, did them a favour as they held second placed LB Rovers to a 2-2 draw. JJ O’Sullivan and Kean O’Keeffe got the LB goals.

Division 2 South

KILLARNEY Athletic just got the better of MEK 4-3 to move onto fifteen points in the division. Goals from Rolan Saha, Daniel Fleming (two) and Bryn Flaherty gave the Woodlawn side three valuable points.

Dingle Bay Rovers are two points behind Athletic as they had to come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw. Two goals from Michael Fitzgerald put Ballyhar 2-0 up at half-time, but Pádraig Manning got two for his side in the second half to earn the draw.

Mastergeeh­a B earned themselves three valuable points as they won 5-2 away at Killorglin C. Sean McAuliffe got four and Bobby Galvin the other goal.
