Then you need to act before December 31 to avail of the Home Renovation Incentive (HRI) tax scheme, which allows for a tax credit of 13.5% of the total cost of repairs, renovation­s and improvemen­ts. You can claim the HRI Tax Credit up to a maximum of €30,000 of your total cost. This figure is before VAT of 13.5% is added.
