Plans for flood relief in Listowel made public

MEMBERS of the public in Listowel have until January 4 to view new plans to alleviate flooding in the centre of the town.

Plans for the Clieveragh Flood Relief Scheme in Listowel went out to public consultati­on this week under the ‘part 8’ process required for planning of projects of its kind by local authoritie­s.

Kerry County Council has applied for planning for the flood relief scheme in the townlands of Clieveragh and Curraghtoo­sane – subject of serious problems at times of heavy rain and where at least one family have been forced to quit their home on a number of occasions over flooding.
